    Hi All...

    Hi All,

just a few words about myself (incredible modest words I may add!)

My name is Dave, i'm very very interestd in the 3D modelling and animation world.

My company name is Dante Media (which actually stands for DAve aNd TEresa, I do the work, she pays the bills and nags! I mean motivates me!!!!) I am currently only doing web work and occasional cd-rom based stuff.

I really want to move into the world of 3D modelling and animation as i feel I am limited by the 2 dimensions that I currently work in.

I am trying to make up my mind as to which package to go for, I have a short list of 3DS Max, Maya and Cinema 4D...any help from you guys would be nice (not just in what package to use but tutorials as well....or should I be limiting myself to only one of them?)

I have got one hell of an imagination, I spend hours imagineering things but my lack of ability with 3D packages is my only downfall!, i'm hoping to get into the film or tv industry but i'll just be glad to be in a job I enjoy!

So that's me, in a nutcase, I mean nut shell!

I look forward to participating in these forums.

    Dave aka dantemedia

    Re: Hi All...

    Welcome Dave

It's good to see you here. Hopefully we'll et more members soon and i hope to be around more often. I'm still currently working offshore and have been without communication for a few weeks. We just got the satelite internet a few days ago and still have plenty work to do recovering from the storms. I'm also in the process of working for a new (better) company out here with much more pay and that's also taken up some of my time. In the little spare time i've had i was working on some new models and will have some of them posted here soon.

As far as which 3D package, most users here use Maya but we also have a group of 3DS users. The choice is really yours, but we have people here that can help with eigther package you choose. Once we get the membership growing and i figure out this web-app i'm running on this site i hope to have tutorials and other instructional sections up with the help aand input of all the members.

I have to run and look busy,
    William
